Practical Anaerobic Bacteriology Workshops

The workshop consists of 3 hours of lecture & 3 hours of simulated lab. The lecture portion will cover theoretical aspects of obligate anaerobiosis, types of infections involving anaerobic bacteria and the anaerobic organisms most frequently involved in infections. Techniques covered will include specimen collection, primary isolation, identification and susceptibility testing. The laboratory session will present unknown organisms for identification using rapid, inexpensive and reliable procedures.
